Hello, we are Beth and Francesca, the founders and creators of The Mini Movement, dance and sensory baby and toddler classes in Cardiff, Newport and Dinas Powys!
We aim to help your baby and toddler achieve key developmental milestones in a fun and exciting class centred around sensory play, gross motor skills, dance and music. Our educational and unique curriculum is designed by our paediatric physiotherapist and dance teacher and centres around our ethos:
‘Creating magic through movement’
Our baby and toddler groups use a range of techniques to help facilitate your child’s gross and fine motor skills and sensory development. Teach your baby how to roll, sit up, stand, crawl and walk (and lots more!)
Help your baby or toddler learn about the world around them through sensory stimulation, music, dance, baby massage, props and more. Mega Movers and Mini Ballet classes also help toddlers build friendships, develop social skills and confidence through imaginative play, music and dance.
Our class themes change regularly to stimulate your baby and let your child explore new skills whilst learning about the world around them. We are thrilled to welcome you to our Mini Movement groups for babies, toddlers, and parents!
Beth has over 10 years of experience working as a paediatric physiotherapist in the NHS and private sector, and now runs her own paediatric physiotherapy business, ‘The Sunshine Movement Physiotherapy’.
She has a particular interest in infant development and ‘early years’. Starting from birth, children develop brain neural connections through their everyday experiences. Her experience has taught her that these connections are enhanced through positive interactions with their parents and caregivers, as well as by using their senses to interact with the world.
The relationship between gross motor development, sensory integration and learning through play continues to fascinate and amaze her, and she has a real passion for bringing these elements to The Mini Movement curriculum.
Francesca is the Dance Principal of the successful FJ Dance Company, running a variety of dance classes for children aged 3-18 years in Dinas Powys.
She also runs dance fitness classes for adults and performs professionally in a variety of shows and events around South Wales. Francesca enjoys all styles of dance with a passion for the performance aspect, which she hopes to pass on to all her students in a fun, safe and nurturing environment.
Francesca uses her dance expertise to create a fun and unique syllabus for our popular Mini Ballet classes for toddlers.
The Mini Movement is a specialised baby and toddler class for children aged from newborn to 3 years. Come and join the fun at our baby classes based around Newport and Dinas Powys, South Wales!
Each exercise and activity in our Mini Movement classes have been meticulously designed to work on gross motor skills for toddlers and babies, as well as fine motor skills, sensory integration, body awareness, rhythm, musicality, attention and core stability.
At the same time, promoting confidence, social skills and bonding between parent and child in a fun, sensory baby group that parents and children alike will enjoy!

Our baby development and sensory classes are currently located in Dinas Powys and Newport, and our classes are suitable for newborns, babies, toddlers and children aged up to 3 years.
We think it is essential for our classes to be developmentally appropriate for your little one as we focus on specific skills and milestones. Therefore, our baby and toddler classes are based around developmental ability rather than age to suit your child’s needs.

This gentle and playful interactive class focuses on nurturing those precious early months and bonding between parent and baby. It leads to developing physical skills, body awareness, confidence and language acquisition
We safely introduce you to sensory play and facilitation of your baby’s development in all areas with expert advice and support.
Come and join our bouncy MEGA MOVERS class for walking toddlers up to age THREE!
This adventure-filled, highly interactive class focuses on refining physical skills, agility and confidence through imaginative story-telling, assault courses, music, dance and much more!
Come and join our magical Mini Ballet classes for ages 18 months to age 3.
This exciting and creative class is a wonderful introduction to the magical world of ballet, created specifically for parents and little ones to enjoy together, focusing on the first steps of dance and ballet through characterisation, props, play, music and movement.
Our Mini Movement classes change themes regularly to keep you and your little ones engaged and excited to turn up to class knowing every week will bring a new adventure! Popular themes include Under The Sea, Around The World, Jungle, When I Grow Up, Superheroes, Magic Of Christmas, Storytime and many more!
We also have fancy dress themes and regular Mini Movement parties, which include special princess visits and celebrating holidays such as Christmas, Easter or Halloween!

No party is too big or too small, we’ve got you covered, so why not try something different for your little one’s birthday this year?
We cater for children’s 1st to 8th birthday parties for up to 30 children. With many special themes to choose from, props, dancing, singing, princess visits and games – we will make sure you leave with the best memories of your celebration!
