We are so excited to welcome you to our Mini Movement sessions for babies, toddlers and parents!
Beth is an HCPC registered Senior Paediatric Physiotherapist who graduated from Cardiff University with a BSc Hons degree. Aside from running ‘The Mini Movement’ Beth has over 10 years of experience working as a paediatric physiotherapist in the NHS and private sector.
She has a particular interest in infant development and ‘early years. Starting from birth, children develop brain neural connections through their everyday experiences and her experience has taught her that these are escalated through positive interactions with their parents and caregivers and by using their senses to interact with the world.
The relationship between gross motor development, sensory integration and learning through play continues to fascinate and amaze her and she has a real passion for bringing these elements to The Mini Movement curriculum.
Beth is also a trained performer and dance teacher, with a passion for musical theatre, and has been involved in many professional performances and events around South Wales. Beth utilises her performance skills and physiotherapy knowledge to engage the children and promote their development in every class. Beth creates the syllabus for The Mini Movement and all staff partake in regular training and development sessions with Beth.
Francesca Jandrell (founder & Principal of FJ Dance Company) graduated from Surrey University in 2012 with a BA Hons degree in Dance. She went on to complete her Diploma in dance instruction at Bristol’s Dance Academy South West and continues her ISTD training for a Diploma in dance education.
Aside from running & teaching at The Mini Movement, Francesca runs, teaches and choreographs at FJ Dance Company, which provides weekly dance classes for ages 3 – adult in a variety of styles. FJDC runs in Hebron Hall, Dinas Powys.
Francesca performs professionally in a variety of shows and events around South Wales. She enjoys all styles of dance with a passion for the performance aspect, which she hopes to pass on to all her students in a fun, safe and nurturing environment.
Francesca is also a Mummy to two little ones (a one and two year old!) who have opened her eyes to the wonderful world of child development and play. She loves watching her beautiful babies develop and grow and they have inspired her with so many ideas and activities that have helped The Mini Movement thrive.
Francesca uses her dance expertise, along with support from Beth’s physiotherapy background, to create a fun and safe syllabus for our popular Mummy Fitness sessions.
We met during various musical theatre productions in Cardiff and instantly became the best of friends. We both had the same idea of developing a special baby and parent class and so ideas started forming!
We wanted to create a unique baby class that offered parents something more exclusive so we combined our specialist areas of dance and infant development to create these fun and interactive classes which centre around movement, sensory development, dance and music!
Our focus is on helping parents to facilitate gross motor development with their little ones through the wonderful world of dance and music.
Paige studied at the University of South Wales, securing a first-class degree in Theatre & Drama in 2015. She also trained to achieve a diploma in dance from Rubicon dance school, Cardiff. She has also been teaching dance, musical theatre and drama for youth locally for many years.
Paige has also applied her musical knowledge and talent working in care homes, hospitals and schools. Her offering has included musical therapy for the older generation including dementia sufferers, as well as for children with special needs.
Her varied experience within these sectors has allowed her to become a very versatile teacher. Allowing her to adapt her knowledge of music therapy to her classes with The Mini Movement. Paige has a sound understanding of how music can aid the development of babies and infants.
Paige is a highly enthusiastic, positive and welcoming teacher. Always greet everyone with the biggest smile. She adores getting to know your lovely babies and watching them grow, develop and meet important milestones in class.
She can’t wait to see you in classes!
Jade is a qualified Occupational Therapist graduating from Cardiff University in 2019, with more than 10 years experience working with children as a gymnastics coach. Jade has worked with children with a variety of needs and is passionate about inclusivity for all. She attended The Mini Movement classes for over a year with her son Llywelyn, who has thoroughly enjoyed both online and face to face lessons with Beth and the team. She always knew she wanted to be part of these amazing classes and share ‘The Mini Movement magic’ further across South Wales so when a teaching job arose she jumped at the opportunity!
Jade is not only enthusiastic about child development and learning through play, but is part of a dance school herself and loves training and performing in her spare time.
Jade is also a Welsh speaker and enjoys using the Welsh language in her classes to optimise learning and inclusivity.
Jade uses her skills from her occupational therapy background to engage the children in her classes through sensory learning and play. She has an enthusiastic and positive outlook on life which shines through in her teaching.
Lynne is a senior paediatric occupational therapist with over 13 years of NHS experience, having qualified from Cardiff University with a postgraduate diploma, which she later converted to an MSc.
She has a passion for working with both early years and children with complex needs in special schools and has always loved supporting children to achieve developmental milestones, no matter how small those steps might feel.
When she was offered a teaching post with The Mini Movement, she couldn’t pass it up – it felt like the perfect opportunity to combine her OT skills with her love of early years to support baby and toddler development. She loves the ethos of The Mini Movement: to promote understanding of the building blocks required for daily living skills in later childhood. She’s also passionate about ensuring classes are adaptable to suit all abilities and needs.
In her spare time, Lynne loves to dance, having competed in the world championships for Pom dance 3 times… when she’s not running around after her 3-year-old, Dylan!
